World Bank Office Upgrade

The office is completely renovated and achieved EDGE final certification.

The World Bank Group Country Office in Dili, Timor-Leste, located on Avenida dos Direitos Humanos, is undergoing a renovation project to revitalize and extend its functional life. The building, which the Bank leases with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a tenant, is a one-level structure with a total building space of 1,281 square meters (including the main building and a separate kitchen structure) and is situated on a land area of 5,825 square meters. Despite being approximately 35 years old, the building has been subject to typical wear and tear over time, necessitating renovation efforts to ensure its effective functionality for at least the next 15 years.

Sustainahaus has been entrusted with the role of EDGE Auditor, overseeing both the design and final stages of this renovation project on behalf of GPDM Sustainability, serving as the EDGE Expert. The project achieved the EDGE preliminary certification in late 2021 and the EDGE final certification in March 2024. This initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing the building's sustainability and resource efficiency while extending its service life for continued use by the World Bank Group in Timor-Leste.
